The long-held Ballykeane apple and pear orchards, near Orange in central-west NSW, have sold to a local operator for about $10 million.
The transaction ends the Leone family's control of the 190-hectare aggregation of four holdings after 45 years of ownership. It was sold to local orchardist, Megafruits Australia, which is expanding its existing operations of apple and cherry orchards.
