Afghan war crimes report author defends atrocity claims
The author of a report exposing special forces' alleged war crimes in Afghanistan says she has no doubt about the veracity of accounts that soldiers slit the throats of children – claims that Scott Morrison branded "repugnant" when seized upon by China as part of a propaganda campaign against Australia.
Sociologist Samantha Crompvoets recorded witnesses' accounts of at least two occasions where soldiers allegedly slit the throats of boys in a secret report prepared for army commanders in January 2016.
