Australian shares to lift as record US retail sales drives markets

Australian shares are set to rise slightly as Wall Street continued an upbeat week driven by record US retail sales data.
SPI futures were up 34 points or 0.6 per cent to 5979 at 3.37am AEDT. The Australian dollar was down 0.5 per cent to 68.86 US cents.
