Des Moines, Iowa | The Democrats’ opening Iowa caucuses descended into farce and recrimination after a technology glitch forced party official to delay reporting the results, creating a vacuum candidates seized to almost universally claim some form of victory.

In a bizarre night that failed to deliver any clear winners or losers, the debacle on Monday night (Tuesday AEDT) left TV networks struggling to fill air time on the most heavily-anticipated political night of the year.
