Trump set for acquittal this week

Washington | Donald Trump is poised to be acquitted by the US Senate after Republicans rejected a Democrat motion to bring fresh witnesses or documents to the President's impeachment trial.
After almost five hours of debate on Friday (Saturday AEDT), senators voted 51 to 49 to dismiss an effort to extend the historic trial to remove Mr Trump from office. Two Republicans - Mitt Romney and Susan Collins - voted with Democrats.
