Davos, Switzerland | US President Donald Trump turned a much-anticipated appearance at the elite Davos forum into a rally for his November re-election bid, lauding his country's economic revival as "nothing short of spectacular".

Mr Trump's centre-stage speech at the annual World Economic Forum (WEF) raised hopes that the volatile and unpredictable president might restrain his penchant for picking fights, curbing the risk of global disruption and discord as he looks to keep the US economy motoring in the run-up to the November 3 poll.
