States snub review of Murray-Darling water sharing rules

Victoria and South Australia have led state governments refusing to co-operate with a federal review of water sharing arrangements under the Murray-Darling Basin Plan.

Water Resources Minister David Littleproud used talks with his state and territory counterparts on Tuesday to propose the inquiry into arrangements for the struggling river system, set to be led by interim basin inspector-general Mick Keelty.
