ASX firms as markets await trade resolution

Australian shares opened the week's trading higher on Monday, edging closer to a fresh record high, buoyed by optimism that a trade deal between the US and China was imminent.
The S&P/ASX 200 Index closed the session 48.4 points, or 0.7 per cent, higher at 6772.5, just 72.6 points shy of its record high.
