Sydney’s new international airport unveiled its grand terminal building last week to the promise of an economic boost and greater convenience for the the city’s west. But the 24-7 facility will also open up new options for the city’s well-heeled east.
Those who have an easy run to Kingsford Smith might think the new Western Sydney International Airport at Badgerys Creek, due to open in late 2026, is too far away to be of use. Think again, says airport chief executive Simon Hickey. “It’s not about east and west … a new airport is good for everyone.”
