If you enjoy cold swimming, Sweden’s Icehotel might be the place for you – at the very least you know the champagne will be chilled.

It’s ice cold in most of the hotel, but don’t let that worry you. Cosy up and admire the surrounding art.

There are many unusual things about Sweden’s Icehotel, and they go beyond the obvious.

For a start, each room is equipped with a fire-proof door, an extinguisher and a smoke detector, despite the fact the walls are frozen, the beds are queen-size slabs of ice, and the interior temperature is always minus 5 degrees.
