Six years ago, almost to the day, Rhonda Ayoubi woke up in a hospital bed, tubes everywhere, monitors beeping, her mouth dry. She was alive.
Three days earlier, Ms Ayoubi, who was just 19 at the time, had suffered a massive coronary arrest. She had been clinically dead for 11 minutes when the third surge of the defibrillator finally revived a weak pulse.
