If you don’t crash, you’re not trying, says tech boss and biker
Barco managing director Claudio Cardile owned six motorbikes last year; now he’s down to two. He says riding up to 800 kilometres a week is his meditation. He answers our Time Out Q&A.
Claudio Cardile is managing director, Australia and New Zealand, of digital projection and imaging technology company Barco. He lives in Sydney.
How old were you when you first rode a motorbike?
I was 14. My parents finally broke under the pressure and bought a trail bike, a Honda XR100R, for my two brothers and I to share. I still remember the intense mix of excitement and fear on first riding it. It’s not a feeling you get to experience every day. My first road bike, when I was on my learner’s licence, was a Yamaha FZR250RR.
