Prawns and oysters are joined by a new trend in seafood treats at Christmas lunch tables this summer: sashimi.

Retailers say kingfish, tuna and Atlantic salmon, fish that often feature in traditional Japanese raw seafood platters, are in hot demand as Australians prepare to host or visit seasonal feasts.
