Richard Smart has been calling himself “The Flying Vine Doctor” for decades.
After gaining a PhD in vine canopy management in the US in the mid-1970s, the Australian viticultural expert has forged an illustrious career, consulting to wine growers in 40 countries, lecturing at universities, presenting papers at scientific conferences, writing books.
