No penguin suits at Fashion Week as men’s clothing returns to runway
Wide-legged trousers, loose-fitting shirts and mixing luxurious fabrics like seersucker, suede and corduroy are the key looks for men this season at Australian Fashion Week, where menswear returned to the runways after a four-year hiatus.
Christian Kimber, a Melbourne menswear designer, wants to be perceived as “the Ralph Lauren of Australia”. He showed his first runway collection on Tuesday, marking the return of an all-menswear range to the event for the first time since 2019. Anna Quan and Michael Lo Sordo also featured menswear in their collections for the first time.
