A third of the 60 galleries participating in the 25th Melbourne Art Fair are new and emerging, a move that incoming director Melissa Loughnan says marks a “generational shift” for the event.

The goal, she says, is simple: to represent “the most comprehensive and considered overview of the region’s thriving contemporary art scene”.
