When travelling, I start with the best of intentions for my skincare regimen. I pack a sheet mask for each night of my trip, imagining a fantasy hour between sightseeing and dinner when I am able to luxuriate in a hot bath, my face soaked in hyaluronic acid (for hydration) and niacinamide (to brighten), instead of the more realistic 10 minutes I will probably have, wherein I will spend at least eight searching for the tube of lipstick I am sure I packed while fielding questions from children about where, exactly, we are going to eat, and will there be chicken nuggets on the menu?
