When Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson rocketed to space last year – separately, of course – on the most expensive midlife crisis tours of all time, both wore custom-designed suits. Bezos opted for a tight-fitting jumpsuit in Yves Klein blue, while Branson wore a looser-fitting style. But neither had the wow factor of a real astronaut’s suit.

It was Elon Musk who really kicked up space fashion, hiring Jose Fernandez to create the outfits for SpaceX. Fashion critic Vanessa Friedman described them as “James Bond’s tuxedo if it were redesigned by Tony Stark as an upgrade for James T. Kirk’s next big adventure”.
