Bankrupt sale of $2.2m collection of rare Rolexes and other watches

In a three-year spending spree, a would-be watch aficionado in Melbourne bought scores of Rolexes, Piagets and other luxury timepieces, building a collection worth more than $2 million.

Then something went wrong. The 95 watches – meticulously documented and many of which have never been worn – are up for sale after the owner went bankrupt and the liquidators moved in.
