It's taken almost 25 years for Brad Pitt and James Gray to get round to making a film together.
In 1995, Pitt saw Gray's debut, Little Odessa, and called the young filmmaker behind the grim Brooklyn crime drama. They've been talking ever since: about films, life and working together. The stars finally aligned for the actor and director with Ad Astra, an ambitious, original space odyssey that opened in cinemas on Thursday.
