I reckon almost everyone I know has seen at least some of the show, adapted from Dame Jilly Cooper’s racy 1988 novel. But how accurate is it, exactly?

Have you watched it yet? Rivals, I mean. I reckon almost everyone I know has seen at least some of the new Disney show, adapted from Dame Jilly Cooper’s 1988 bonkbuster. Its opening scene on Concorde is eye-popping, and there are a good number of naked bottoms throughout, but you could always do what a certain member of my family does and fast-forward through the rude bits.

I was nervous about this series. Some months ago, I wrote about reports circulating that American Disney executives were horrified by the sex scenes and general romping, and had ordered reshoots. “No!” I wrote, “the whole point of Jilly is the celebratory sex.”
