Serial killer and ocean predator combine for a top popcorn movie in “Dangerous Animals”. But a live-action “How To Train Your Dragon” lacks the original’s magic.

We really should be less accomplished at making horror films. They’re scaring our tourists away.

Dangerous Animals is the latest Australian film to toy with a foreigner’s fears of this wild nation. It does so by slyly introducing two horror protagonists, the serial killer and shark, as the tormentors of travellers passing through the Gold Coast.
