So many chairs, yet there’s scarcely a place to sit. Melbourne-based contemporary artists Peter Atkins and Dana Harris have invited me into their split-level home and studio in a one-time engineering factory in the hip inner Melbourne suburb of Brunswick.

I’m here for what’s been a 25-year labour of love: the couple’s unrivalled collection of modernist design work, from the 1950s and early ’60s, of internationally renowned Melbourne-born sculptor Clement Meadmore.
