Melbourne Symphony Orchestra has recorded the biggest loss in its 118-year history, as legal bills and termination payments helped blow a $3.3 million hole in its budget.
The MSO’s 2024 financial report, lodged without fanfare in May, revealed an operating deficit of $1.9 million as ticket sales fell 11 per cent to $15.7 million.
