Adelaide changed a great deal in the decades that Rachael Azzopardi and Lee Cumberlidge were away from their hometown. They’ve tried to capture that transformation in their Illuminate Festival.

For all next month, Illuminate will take over the “city of churches” with temporary cathedrals of light, music and visual art. They will be underscored by the kind of cutting-edge technology for which Adelaide is increasingly becoming known.
