This year saw a few stadium-fillers switch to introspective mode, including Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Bruce Springsteen foil Stevie Van Zandt, folk guitar god Richard Thompson and the woman most relevant in Australia for writing The Horses by Daryl Braithwaite, Rickie Lee Jones.
