Decades of international success on stage and screen means that no Australian has entertained more people than Barry Humphries, who died in Sydney on Saturday aged 89.
Delighting US and British audiences with a menagerie of Australian characters, most famously the Moonee Ponds housewife-turned-global megastar Dame Edna Everage, is a mark of Humphries’ comedic genius.
