Barry Humphries may be honoured with a state funeral in Victoria as the government speaks with his family about how to best pay tribute to the comedic legend, who died on Saturday night at age 89.

Over the weekend Prime Minister Anthony Albanese led worldwide tributes to Humphries, the actor behind indelible characters such as Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson.
