Arkley’s freeway races out of the boardroom trailing a hefty price tag

The painter’s last major work spent 25 years at a Melbourne architecture firm. Now there are hopes it will become the artist’s third $2 million sale of the year.

Roger Wood, of Wood Marsh architects in Melbourne, knows the frustration when people come to him with rigid design concepts in mind for the home of their dreams.

“It’s slightly questionable when clients come in with Time magazines with Post-it notes everywhere, having come to us to design a house for them,” Wood says with a chuckle.
