Actor Richard Roxburgh on superheroes and sexting
The economist turned actor is riding high, but he's still got a few bees in his bonnet.
Richard Roxburgh: “I find it disappointing as a species that we have come to that. Because I don’t want to have to live in an environment where there are signs telling you what surely should just be a matter of human decency.” Louie Douvis
Richard Roxburgh looks well for a man who’s just returned from an adults only weekend partying on the Tiwi Islands off the coast from Darwin. The actor has barely sat down before he’s raving about the sense of liberation that comes from being in a genuinely untamed natural environment. In this case the wildlife included crocodiles on the beach, sharks just offshore, a “bunch of couples” on hand to celebrate the 50th birthday of his mate, chef Matt Moran, and one big barra.
“I caught a one-metre barramundi on the weekend, and I got it right there,” he says, pointing to the floor beside the table, “and it got away. And Matt has been giving me shit about it ever since.”
