Strip search victims free to bring case against Qatar Airways

The full bench of the Federal Court says five Australian women can bring a case against Qatar Airways and the operator of the airline’s hub airport in Doha, finding that a previous judge erred in saying their case had no reasonable chance of succeeding.

The women had appealed a Federal Court decision last year to dismiss their claim for damages against the airline, the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority and the airport operator, MATAR, for alleged assault and false imprisonment.
