Five women are appealing a Federal Court judgment that stopped them from bringing civil action against Qatar Airways and the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority after they were subjected to invasive strip searches at Doha International Airport.
The Australian women were among hundreds who were removed from their flight by armed guards at Doha’s Hamad International Airport in 2020 after a baby was found unattended in a bathroom. They were then strip-searched without their consent to determine if they had given birth recently.
