Regional Express deputy chairman John Sharp says the airline is still seeing some hesitancy for travel in the market as a national reopening draws near, but maintains there was never any thought of pulling the plug on its new domestic flights even as its Boeing 737 jets left the sky from late June.
The aircraft returned to service on Monday morning for the first time since COVID-19 outbreaks in NSW and Victoria grounded Rex’s foray into interstate flights.
