The new chief operating officer for Australia of fast-growing Chinese electric BYD says the price of full battery electric vehicles will eventually fall to the same levels as similar-sized petrol or diesel models.

Stephen Collins, who ran Honda Australia for 11 years until 2022, has outlined ambitious growth plans for BYD in Australia. It was the country’s twelfth highest selling car brand in May, and it now outperforms Tesla.
