Minns unveils plan for 200k homes, powered by Metro rail links
The Minns government has pressed the green light on the $25 billion Sydney Metro West rail link as part of a combined transport, housing and planning strategy that will build another 190,000 homes close to rail corridors.
In its biggest move yet to address a housing crisis, the government confirmed on Wednesday it would complete the Metro project, which links Sydney’s CBD with Westmead with a minimum of nine stations, by 2032. Another two stations would likely be added to the rail line to maximise opportunities for new housing areas.
