Minns flags Metro rail rethink after briefings show blowout to $45b
NSW Premier Chris Minns has flagged potential changes to a major rail project after Treasury briefings on the new rail network revealed costs on first estimates had doubled to $45 billion for two lines.
The new NSW premier has also tapped former infrastructure department boss Mike Mrdak and former Queensland transport expert Amanda Yeates to review the Sydney Metro project, promising to ensure the investment delivers “value for money” at the higher price.
