Labor sings vastly different tunes on supermarkets and Qantas

Aviation is much more concentrated than supermarkets, yet the government seems to accept that the airline industry should remain anticompetitive.

There was plenty of tough talk from Labor about supermarkets after the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission alleged Coles and Woolworths had misled customers about discounts on groceries.

“Businesses need to do the right thing by Australians,” said Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, adding his government wanted “a fair go for farmers and families”.
