Payment devices are now strewn over taxi dashboards and cab-booking apps are multiplying, but Hamish Petrie, the founder of Cabcharge challenger Ingogo, argues several small players will be turfed.

After diversifying into the equally contested small business mobile ­payments space via a deal in August with accounting software provider Xero , Mr Petrie is hard on the marketing trail for a listing early in 2015.
