Coolangatta apartment manager Ashley Sartori has first-hand experience of the craziness of the Queensland border closure and how it is crippling the state's multibillion-dollar tourism industry.

The Bella Mare Beachside Apartments – which Mr Sartori manages with his wife Sue – is about 50 metres from the Queensland-NSW border. It runs down the middle of Boundary Street on the Coolangatta headland which leads to the famous surfing spot at Snapper Rocks.
