Qantas, Virgin cancel 75 Brisbane flights on first day of lockdown

Qantas and Virgin Australia were forced to collectively cancel at least 75 flights into and out of Brisbane as the Queensland capital fell into its first full day of lockdown after an outbreak of the hyper-virulent UK coronavirus strain.

Qantas and its budget subsidiary Jetstar cancelled about 45 Brisbane services while Virgin scrapped another 31 on Tuesday, with the lockdown set to run until at least Thursday evening.
