Hotels brace to lose September school holidays

Tourism operators and hospitality venues could lose a fourth consecutive set of school holidays this September – wiping out yet another $6 billion – after NSW experienced its “darkest day” of the pandemic on Saturday with 319 new cases, resulting in tougher restrictions across Sydney.

By Sunday, Cairns was also in lockdown in Queensland, and it was widely tipped that Victoria’s sixth lockdown could be extended.
