V'landys likely to get his pick for new NRL chief

The departure of National Rugby League chief executive Todd Greenberg is expected to further entrench the power of ARL Commission chairman Peter V'landys who wants the NRL to resume playing next month.
While NRL chief commercial officer Andrew Abdo moves into the acting CEO role while a recruitment search is undertaken, any new chief executive will have to keep a tighter rein on head office expenses than his predecessor.
