Experts on a taxpayer-funded review into 2032 Olympic stadiums – whose key recommendations were immediately junked – were unaware bureaucrats had worked for weeks on rival plans, an inquiry has heard.

“It was a complete blindsiding for us,” Graham Quirk, head of the review panel, told the Senate inquiry into preparations for the Olympics and Paralympics on Wednesday.
