Australian football superstar Sam Kerr wants the women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in 2023 to prove Australia is a football-mad nation.
While cricket and AFL – and to a lesser extent rugby league and rugby union – have dominated the national sporting stage, Matildas captain Kerr wants football (or soccer for the heathens) to be universally embraced by Australians when the World Cup comes to our shores.
