Nine clinches Australian Open and tennis rights in shock $300m move

Nine Entertainment Co will pay Tennis Australia $300 million over the next five years for broadcast rights, wresting the Australian Open coverage from Seven West Media for the first time in more than four decades.
The move also throws into doubt Nine's continued involvement in cricket, which it has broadcast since the World Series Cricket days of the late 1970s. The cricket rights are currently out to tender.
