London | Diego Maradona’s “Hand of God” shirt has sold for a record £7.1 million ($12.4 million) after Sotheby’s rejected claims from the late footballer’s daughter about its authenticity.
The sale price shattered the £3 million estimate and the £4 million reserve in frenzied bidding that resulted in the cost almost doubling in the final nine minutes.
