The AFL is the winner in the battle for the new chairman of Greater Western Sydney, with its preferred candidate, Tim Reed, to take the helm.

Mr Reed, president of the Business Council of Australia, will become the second chairman of the AFL’s western Sydney club, replacing Tony Shepherd who led the Giants since their 2011 inception.
