The Birdcage at the Melbourne Cup Carnival feels a little more grown up this year.
There are fewer gimmicks – gone is G.H. Mumm’s swimming pool, 60-foot yacht and rocket ship – replaced by a greater sense of sophistication and elegance, the media preview of the Birdcage on Wednesday revealed.
