Retail union open to simplifying enterprise bargaining

The dominant retail union is open to simplifying enterprise bargaining as part of industrial relations reform, saying the system should boil down to whether workers are better off than the minimum and a majority supports the deal.

Shop Distributive and Allied Employees Association national secretary Gerard Dwyer said the union wanted to reform procedural requirements that were dragging out approvals of agreements to up to a year but would not be drawn on changes to the controversial better off overall test (BOOT).
