Between Wesfarmers’ investor day on Tuesday and the Fair Work Commission’s retail award decision on Friday, last week was a busy one.

Wesfarmers is one of the nation’s biggest employers and its chief executive, Rob Scott, had plenty to say about productivity and the impact of a sharp rise in minimum wages, which he says will undermine investment.
